Position: Junior Systems Analyst
Tell me about you and your role?
I am currently working in Vodafone as a Junior Systems Analyst in our Business Solutions and Configuration Team. Through this role, I work with our business teams on a daily basis to configure new IT requests or changes, such as new plans and discounts. This role strongly encourages collaboration – with my own team and others, attention to detail, and problem-solving, which I particularly enjoy due to my Physics background.
Tell me about your career path so far?
I first joined Vodafone as an Intern in 2018, assisting a Project Manager within the IT Department. This was my first introduction to life in a Tech Company, and I loved that it combined the tech and management skills that I had gained in college. I then came back as a grad in 2019, joining IT again as a Scrum Master, and then moving into the Governance and Strategy team. Here I worked as a Data Analyst, primarily working on forecasting the growth and trends of our fixed network, before moving into my full-time role in March 2021.
Throughout my various roles, I have been passionate about Education and Diversity in STEM, and I joined the CWIT Education Committee in Spring 2020. I then became the Vodafone Representative for Teen Turn, an organisation very close to my heart, before joining Jill as CWIT Education Co-Chair in April 2021.
What do you like about working in tech?
So many things! Every day is different, and it’s a pleasure to work with a huge variety of teams across the business on so many exciting projects.
I particularly love that working in Tech allows you to explore – and make a real difference, in Tech-related volunteering opportunities like CWIT, and similar diverse networks. Not only are we creating the future, but we’re paving the way for others to do that too.
