Tell me about you and your role?
I’m Harika and I work as a Senior Technical Support Engineer at New Relic, Dublin. I enjoy helping our customers to create perfect software for better internet. I provide support for installation, configuration, and data exploration requests via ticket-based and phone channels. There are good days and then there are challenging days when I come across some tricky problems. But at the end of the day, the satisfaction I get from resolving the issues is something I cannot explain in words.
Tell me about your career path so far?
I did my bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from India and I got my first job in a campus interview after my graduation. It was a Support Analyst role and that’s where I got the initial experience of being a support specialist. I never looked back and here I am now working for a great multinational corporation that continues to make the world a better place by helping customers create perfect software.
What do you like about working in tech?
Tech never gets boring. There is always something new to learn and to experiment with. The Tech industry is evolving every minute and has something for everyone’s needs. Particularly in my role, helping customers overcome technical issues and fixing their problems feels like a superpower for me. To be able to do that, I need to stay up to date with most of the trending technologies which I see as the best part of the job.
Share 1 insight for someone looking to enter the tech industry?
For someone outside the tech industry, it might look like a huge ocean. But if you have that curiosity to develop things or to know how things work, it’s a perfect place to dive into and swim your own way. Just be curious and be brave to try out new things.
